Kavanagh Mansfield and Partners was established in 1988. The practice has steadily grown into a leading practice of Structural and Civil Engineers in Ireland. The firm has a broad base of experience providing completely independent professional advice to both public and private sector clients on a wide variety of construction projects. We have significant experience in a wide variety of design issues on projects of all sizes and with varying degrees of complexity for an extensive range of clients. The practice has evolved over the last 30 years into a leading Consulting Engineering firm committed to working towards design excellence allied to cost effectiveness and sustainability.

The company is privately owned, independent, Dublin based Irish Practice of Consulting Engineers. We have undertaken international projects in the UK, Spain and Jersey, which we are one of only six off-Island Engineers. Our company success is attributed to the expertise, dedication and commitment from our team where each and every project is unique and our ethos to deliver consistence excellence. A priority for us as Structural and Civil Engineers in approaching the design work is to offer a solution that is both affordable to construct and to maintain over the intended life of the building or the Whole Life Cost. It is vital that careful consideration is given to use of new materials and methods so as to take advantage of the rapid advances that manufacturers in the industry are making. We have worked successfully and have enormous experience with numerous large and small contractors on a huge variety of projects and fully understand the significance of providing a design that is buildable and economic. We also believe that value for money is essential and that this is achieved by attention to detail at design stage.

In prestigious buildings, detailing is as important as the general structural form. Cost control begins with the detailed design at early stages culminating in the preparation of comprehensive drawings and specifications. Kavanagh Mansfield and Partners believe that the structural solution must be appropriate, economic, flexible and elegant. The design must take into account architectural features, buildability and durability.

Structure is permanent and while services and finishes can be altered during the lifetime of the building, the structure must be suitable for the long-term use and must make reasonable allowance for developments in the use of the building over time. Our over-riding objective is to ensure value for money for our clients, which means that our economic designs will be finalised during the early stages of the project ensuring that the tender documentation is as robust as possible, limiting the ability for claims by the contractor. Our aim is to have zero contract claims on all our projects.
