Dunnes Stores - Henry Street

Description: The Dunnes Stores Henry Street comprised the demolition of the existing building and the construction of a new four storey over deep basement retail development linking Henry Street through to the IIac Centre incorporating part of that Centre. The floor area of the development is 120,000 sq ft. The structure is primarily steel framed with contiguous piling below ground level. The building access was extremely restricted being a city centre site sandwiched between a number of existing adjoining buildings.

Ferrybank Shopping Centre

Project: Development at Ferrybank, Co. Kilkenny

Address: Ferrybank District Centre, Kilkenny
Description: The development generally consists of a two storey structure over double height basement area. Both basement levels are used for car parking while most of the upper levels are designed for use as retail outlets. There are also live-work units located at 2nd and 3rd floor levels together with some office space at 2nd floor level. There is also a ground level external surface car park as part of the development. The project was built using fast track methods involving a steel superstructure and precast concrete floor slabs.

Dunnes Stores - Roscrea

Project: Dunnes Stores Roscrea
Client: Dunnes Stores, Store Development

Address: Gaol Road, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary
Description: This is a complete new store involving the partial demolition and refurbishment of a protected Malt House structure which included the change of use from industrial to retail, together with an extensive new build extension element to the rear. The site was difficult with significant retaining structure around the perimeter due to level difference on site.
A large underground attenuation system was incorporated to limit the surface water flow from the development.

IKEA, Carrickmines

Address: The Park, Carrickmines, Dublin 18
Description: The project consisted of the fit out of an existing vacant unit within a retail park, to create an Ikea Order and Collection Point, with back of house facilities and home delivery hub including the construction of new welfare and amenity facilities, installation of new partitions and ceilings, installation of new mechanical and electrical services, new IT and CCTV cabling, fit out to Ikea Corporate livery and standards including new internal walls, ceilings, floor finishes and joinery.
Status: Complete
KMP Service: Assigned Certifier and Structural Engineer for fit out of retail unit.

Nandos

Project: Nandos Restaurant – Cork City
Client: Nandos Chickenland Ireland
Architect: STAC Architecture Limited
Address: 22 Academy Street, Cork
Description: Extensive Refurbishment Works on the site of former Meadows and Byrnes and Insomnia to create a Nandos Restaurant.

The works included the installation of a new goods lift and fire escape stair, strengthening of the existing first floor timber structure, the creating of a new high level plant room and the opening up of the roof space to expose the existing Queen Post Timber Roof Structure.
